Your Role
The APS5 Business Support Officer supports the critical functions of business support and workforce management through the provision of a high level of support and customer service. The role includes providing administrative support associated with ATACSPO financial transactions; purchase order and invoice management; travel management; workforce organisation support; contract management support activities and ATACSPO facilities management support.
The APS 5 Business Support Officer is a member of a team of eight, which provides shared administrative, workforce management and business support functions for a very busy Systems Program Office. The APS5 Business Support Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated environment. You will interpret and provide advice to our stakeholders within the administrative and business support function based on legislation.
Our Team
As part of the Rotary, Aerospace and Surveillance Systems Division (RASSD) within Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), the Air Training and Aviation Commons Systems Program Office (ATACSPO) is located in Regional Victoria at the RAAF Base East Sale with an office also located within the Melbourne CBD.
The Administration Officer position is located within the Melbourne CBD office.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our Ideal Candidate for this role will have had recent experience in administrative and/or finance business support roles. With strong organisational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and good communication skills, you will be able to manage priorities, meet deadlines and exercise discretion. Operating in a new, complex and constantly changing environment you will actively adapt to come up with innovative solutions, and influence our stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
You will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct investigations and perform procedural and business administration support work to achieve results and contribute towards ongoing improvement of work practices. You are accountable to have a good understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
The ability to work independently, professionally handle sensitive data and information, as well as the ability to adapt to change, and experience in the use of IT systems to support financial and administrative tasks are considered essential for success in this role.
